What does everyone really do for a living? (341 posts)

I know that most of us would say we hunt or would like to hunt more then we work, but we have to have the income to fuel our passion, so I pose the question, what do you do for a living.

      I will go first,  Marketing.

          Hunting for food (28 posts)

I am a 41 year old New Zealander, who has travelled a fair bit, and has recently moved back to NZ. I did a fair bit of hunting growing up, and continued when I travelled.
While I was travelling I saw a lot of agricultural areas and poor farming practices, and gave up meat. I was a vegetarian for seven years.

          During that period, I di...

            weatherby video contest (34 posts)

as I was looking at the videos who were finalist I was surprised on how several  people who allready own weatherby rifles were choosen as finalist. I thought the constest was about   "I  want a weatherby not for another one" I think the all the finalist should have been to hunters who dont own any weatherbys!

              Hello Everyone,
This is Cletus again. As you all know that Frank went to California and picked out his gun. Right now it is getting some stuff (engraving) done to it. When Frank gets it, the camera will come out and pictures will be posted. That way everyone can see the gun that Frank got. I will try to keep you posted. Unl...

Chris, my compliments on job well done; just this morning, I mentioned to my Lovely Wife that I believe I could spend a day at this website, and never tire of it.

That said, I need a little help:  Editing my profile, I cannot seem to complete the "What I hunt" section.  I've tried this more than once, but for som...

I hunt mostly birds and small game in McKean County, PA, although I do occasionally like to put venison in the freezer too. The Mark V 7mm W.M. is a little much for the whitetail because most shots are inside 75 yards around here, so I use my Remington Model 7 7mm-08 on deer and my Benelli Nova or Winchester 1300 for everything else.

Longest shot made on a deer with your Weatherby? (97 posts)

How far away was your longest shot made on a deer using a Weatherby rifle?  Please list the model you were using, the caliber and bullet.  My longest shot on a Whitetail deer was 375 yards with my left hand 7mm Wby. mag. Lazermark using the 139 grain Hornady bullet.  (I wish Weatherby currently made a left hand Lazermark/Deluxe!)

It was in 1992, the last hour of the last day of the season, between work and bad luck I had not yet filled my deer tag and was shuffling my feet and pondering the thought of going the whole next year without any venison, and breaking my own string of successful seasons. I was standing on a hilltop with an expansive view in 3 directions.I spotted 3...

                    Game cameras (6 posts)

Saw a game camera at Sams club. Its the Wildview 5 mega pic, with 1 gig SD card and 4 C cell batteries. The price for the kit was 57.99. So I bought one. Anyone have experience with these camera?

I bought a Wildview game came from Wally World last year just before the season.  It seemed to do everything I needed it for...give me an idea of game numbers and times of movement in the area I planned to hunt.  I wasn't interested in magazine quality photos, and I didn't need an expensive camera to accomplish my goal...so the ...
