I hope they chamber for the .375 Ruger. It is the perfect fit for the standard Vanguard action and since Howa is now chambering for it, I see no logical reason for Weatherby  not to follow suit in the Vanguard line. If not, I guess I'll purchase the Howa, but I'd rather have a Sub-MOA stainless Vanguard in .375 Ruger.

Ed, Bring Back the SS Mark V (16 posts)

Please bring the stainless Mark V back into production.  I'll buy one in a heartbeat!!  There needs to be a SS rifle in the Mark V line up.  Bad as I hate to say and no flames intended, the Vanguard just does not do it for me.

      Make me happy in 2009!!

My brother has a Mark V Stainless in the .340 Weatherby Magnum that he bought nine or ten years ago and I have to say the action is as smooth as glass.  I don't own one but do have the Accumark in .338-.378 and absolutely love it.  If the Stainless Mark V comes back I would buy one in a second.  My only gripe is that the big bor...

Weatherby used to load the .416 with the 400 grain Swift A-Frame but it was discontinued.  It was and is an outstanding bullet and I wish it would be brought back.  There's a gap in the .416 bullet choices in that there is no premium 400 grain offering in the classic weight for that caliber.

Just picked up my Mark XXII. What a beautiful rifle! Putting a scope on it this weekend and then sighting her in. Can't wait. Thanks Weatherby for the opportunity, great book about Roy Weatherby and the rifle. Just finished the book, wow! What a story, what a great man. The stories about Africa were inspiring. God Bless, Matthew

I'm from New Zealand, middle of the North Island near a place called Taupo.
Plenty of deer and pig hunting, and some damn good trout fishing too.

i hunt deer and turkey and if we get a big enough group to drive the swamps, bear. I also hunt in unit 4w in New York. However New York reminds me of Pa in the seventies and eighties. 12 doe in a heard and on little buck with 4 inch penciles on his head and blame he gets it.

                        Left Handed Weatherby's (13 posts)

Hi! I really like the fit and finish of the mark V's. I've handled several in gunshops and have always been really impressed. Always felt like had a solid rifle in my hands. Problem is, I'm left handed and the caliber selection leaves a little to be desired. The right handed accumark is availble in 15 calibers. 15! versus the 2 that ...

I also wondered what I would do about shooting a Left handed Weatherby. I just bit the bullet and began buying every Weatherby made in left handed. It has taken a couple years and I had to buy 2 custom gun in cal. I could not find any other way, but I now own a left handed rifle in every cal. that Weatherby ever made in their mag calibers. Though I...

The last two bags of Winchester .22-250 brass I bought a couple months ago had over 10% defective cases - split or folded shoulders and necks.   I have had no problems with the Remington brass I have bought - no defective cases in the last 6 or 8 bags of .243 and 6mm Rem.   Winchester did send me a new bag of brass after I sent ...
