I have not been able to find any in 257 Weatherby.I wanted them to easily keep my Barnes hunting loads separate from my cheaper Sierra range loads. They look cool also(lol).I have heard that they dont hold up as well though for lots of reloading.

The way I identify my range ammo versus my hunting is that I turn my brass with #000 steel wool this gives it a real neat look kind of a brushed look, you can do it by hand or a drill motor, or a electric prep tool/machine. it realy does not take that long and your only doing 20-80 ? any way try one or two see what you think.....Jim

Jim: That sounds like a neat ideal.I will give it a try.Zonie gave me the idea of using a magic marker on one of the rounds as he does.Works great and will try your idea for a different look.Thanks.

I have some interesting recipes for coloring brass that I'd be more than happy to share privately.  I don't want to post them as I don't have permission to do so from the originator, but I could easily email them out after I get them typed up.  PM me if you're interested, and I'll try to make it a priority sometime soon.I believe this is a practical world, and in it I can count only on what I can earn.  Therefore I believe in work, hard work. - The Auburn Creed

If you're still looking for the nickel-plated stuff, check out Natches Shooter's Supply and Midway. They'll have it, and sometimes you can get it primed. Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine.

I like the looks of nickel plated brass, but terminator told you the straight skinny on durability.  It doesn't last as long.  Lots of neck cracks, and it is harder to spot incipient head separations.  The only times I ever had complete head separations was with nickel plated brass.  Not in a Weatherby, by the way, but in a particular wildcat.  Personally I wouldn't waste money on the stuff.
