Thank you Dubyam. 9:00 I've finally made it home, she is indeed Made in the USA. Not sure how that detail slipped my mind, considering that everything else stuck. Dubyam hit the nail on the head.

I'd like to find one of those in .30-06 or .270 Win and rebarrel that sucker to .35 Whelen with a 24 inch barrel and see if it would outshoot my Remington 700 .35 Whelen.

Nice find!=S=

Marshal

Congratulations. That's a pretty rifle & you got a good price. Don't discount the good ole '06, it'll still get the job done. Wink

Frank: You'll never see me knock the good ol' 30-06. I've wanted one in a bolt action for as long as I can remember. I wasn't planning on buying one just yet, but I couldn't pass on this one.

The original plan was to pick up an M1A and then find a suitable bolt action, also in .308. Now I'm thinking M1 Garand should finances ever permit.

I had originally planned to hit the range today, but turns out it's cold, rainy, and really windy. Guess I'll have to wait & see what the weather looks like Sunday & Monday.
