John Coapman

(1/1)

Mark Liechty:
Does anyone know if a man named John Coapman ever worked for Weatherby? He was a professional hunter in India and Nepal in the 1950s and 60s and worked closely with Herb Kline in the development of a game lodge in Nepal in the 60s and 70s. I have some reports that he worked for Kline "at a rifle factory in Dallas." To my knowledge Weatherby doesn't have a factory in Dallas so there seems to be confusion. If anyone knows anything about any link between Coapman and Weatherby, I'd love to hear from you.

Seems Mr Klein was a native of Dallas, Texas and i suppose from what i read that he was a founder of Weatherby Firearms? Not too sure how that went about but this 257 Rifle belonging to Mr Klein is one work of Art! The Mr Coapman you speak of is kinda still a mystery i could not find anything about him but you come to the rite place to get answers about this Company!  I am sure others here can fill you ion on him but most everyone is out hunting and should be back within a few weeks?
