I have gone through all the posts and have found only eight orders so far. Perhaps others have placed orders without posting it on the forum.
I would ASSUME that Weatherby was expecting to sell a much larger number of rifles and that this small number of orders will make the production cost for each rifle to be quite high. I just hope this does not become a big money loser for the company.I will believe corporations are people when Texas executes one.

I AM IN......Faxed my order in today, I am so pumped up over this gun. I am thinking that I may be the 9th or 10th in the order lineup, however hard to tell. Just as long as I get it one day. Thanks to Terminator for your answers to my questions. If anyone is planning to order one of these 257 Weatherby Mag, time is running out. September 30th is cut off date for ordering.

One day to go. I called today to ensure that my order was in the custom shop, it was there. I also asked how many had been ordered, the man on the other end of the phone told me a dozen. That was at 1:30 on Wednesday. Floyd Morris, Jr.

First, you would get more responses if you create a new post rather than resurect an old dinosaur.
As for the question, that would be like asking someone what a chrysler 300 is compared to.
You could list all the competition 4 door sedans in the similar price range but really nothing quite compares. It has it's own style that appeals to individual fans. Wby Vannie is like that. It has its own characteristics that either appeal to you or they don't. Wby is far more than just a rifle. It has a cult following of sorts as this sight will demonstrate. Also, if you where a regular you would see how Wby staff goes above and beyond when it comes to customer service. I can't get into detailes here but the examples are numerous. As for quality, again, just read the posts. So many happy customers can't be wrong.
Try making a new post with your question and members with an actual IQ can answer more better than me can.broke but never bored

I think maybe Mike's humor didn't translate well. I read his post and I see where he's going with the answer he gave, but I think unfortunately the post comes off a little wrong. No worries.
The Vanguard is a stellar rifle, and IMO it's the best rifle for the dollar on the market today. Weatherby as a company is also in that "best in class" category. You won't go wrong buying a Vanguard.
And, as Mike said, start a new thread under the "Rifles" category, and you'll get bombarded with answers to any questions you might have.I believe this is a practical world, and in it I can count only on what I can earn. Therefore I believe in work, hard work. - The Auburn Creed
The older I get, the less stock I place in what men say, and the more I place in what men do.
